Question: How much should Honda Accord Tires cost?
I have a 2000 Honda Accord and the tires look really worn down. I want to replace them, how much do they normally cost to replace? Also, how much do you think the labor would cost?

Answer: For all four you're looking at $400 at the very least but if you go to an auto wrecker you can get some really good used tires for far less and usually they're still on the rims. Then you just have to take them to a tire store and pay the labor cost. It'll be less than half price.

Question: How do I pick a car stereo that will fit in my '97 Honda Accord?
I have a 1997 Honda Accord EX. Currently, it has an Alpine CD Player model CDE-7826 but it is not working correctly. So, I want to get a new one (the power keeps turning off whenever I go over a bump). If I just buy another Alpine will it work with the existing wiring? Also, the plastic that surrounds the CD Player (the molding in between the unit and the housing of the car) is cracked, so I want to replace that as well.

I want to purchase something off of ebay b/c I don't want to spend a lot of money, but I'm unsure if the new stereo I buy will work correctly with what's already there. I've taken the stereo out and it appears easy to put a new one in - as long as the wires are compatible.

Answer: you can buy a compatible wiring harness to go with whichever stereo you chose. it should be fairly easy to replace, as long as it fits in the housing that is laready installed. if it doesnt, you might have to go to a car audio shop and have them install it for like 50-100 bucks.

Question: Is a 1993 Honda accord with 140,632 miles on it a good first car ?
Is a 1993 honda accord with 140,632 miles on it a good first car ?

answer: well, the average life of a car is 10 years, or 120,000 miles. You are over on both counts.

If you are really interested in it, have your mechanic check it over very carefully before you decide to buy.

Question: Is it possible to put an Auto-stick transmission on a 2001 Honda Accord?
I have a 2001 Honda Accord Ex Coupe with the 3.0 litre Vtec V6. I was wondering if it was possible to put an Auto-stick transmission on my car. If so, where could i find one, and what modifications would i have to make to the car such as the shifter/gear changer or anything else?

answer: no such thing exists for that car. 97 preludes have the trans but if wont work with a v6

Question: How to start a race with a standard honda accord?
okay i have a standard honda accord and i want to race my friend. is it possible for me to start in the 5th gear? and at what rpm?

Answer: Okay, so what you should do is go get your funeral planned.

A friend of mine past away on Saturday July 1st (Canada Day) because he was racing with his Honda Civic SI and it's young folks like you who are starting to die early from stupidity.

By the way, it's not about speed, it's all about the ride.

Question: How much its going to cost me to replace muffler on Honda Accord 94?
My car is becoming noisy and i think it needs a muffler change but want to know how much its going to cost to change the muffler on my 94 Honda Accord.

Answer: Go to a muffler shop a that is independently owned and I would guess it should cost about $85.00 + tax and no more.

Question: How do I fix my Honda Accord radio after the battery died?
The battery died on my Honda Accord & once I jumped it, the radio stopped working. The ANTI-theft light is NOT ON, and it's not asking for a code. I don't know what to do about it, though. Any help would be great because driving with out music is making me INSANE!

Answer: Probably when jumping the car a shorted was created thus blowing the fuses, check them on the fuse panel box. Usually there is a fuse in the panel box and one in the fuse panel box in the engine compartment and/or the fuse on the back of the unit.

Question: I recently purchased a 2001 Honda Accord and I was wondering if their was any way to squeeze out extra power through some tuning. I was watching a tuner show that said that you could tweak a car through its diagnostic port, is that true?

Extra Details:
- LX 4cyl.
- 2001 model
- No other upgrades

P.S. Where is the diagnostic port?

Answer: The Honda 4 cyl is designed for economy, not performance (I also have an 01 LX Accord 4-cyl). You many be able to mess with it a bit, bit it is hardly worth it. By the time you get done wasting time and money, you may gain 1 HP - not worth the effort, and you may affect something else. You are not going to turn the car into a dragster. I'd say leave it alone. Your resale value will also stay high if you keep it stock. No one wants to buy a hacked used car.

Question: Does anybody know where the idle adjusting screw is on a 1990 honda accord?
im looking to adjust the idle on my 1990 honda accord. does anyone know where the adjusting screw is on the throttle body?

Answer: there is a plug over the idle speed adjustment. You can pop it out with a ice pick or small screwdriver then do the adjustment (you don't have to replace it) It is located on the passenger side of the injector housing or control body or whatever! Stand just behind your right front wheel, lean under the hood and you should see it. The plug is about 3/8" diameter.

Question: How much should a 60,000 miles tune up cost for a Honda Accord?
I have a 2000 Honda Accord And it just reached the 60,000 miles mark. It says in the manual I should have a tune up. Does anyone know how much it should cost and what needs to be done to the car? Also, I live in the North Dallas area so if you can reccomend a place to tune it up it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Answer: Replace the plugs , rotor and cap , change the oil , fuel filter and air filter and your done. Most hondas are ok until 70,000 miles or 100,000 km , They need a timing belt and belt guides replaced at that time . its usually good to put a water pump on at that time as you are in there already. Tune up pays 1.5 hrs labour according to Chilton labour guide. Fuel filter pays .5 hr , air filter is n/c and oil change pays.3 add cost of parts and your done.

Question: How much to change a 1998 Honda Accord Water Pump?
How much should I look for paying for my 1998 Honda Accord Water Pump??? With Labor and Materials?

Answer: Your water pump is driven by the timing belt which has to be replaced every 105,000 miles especially for your car which has an "interference" type engine whose valves get bent and cause major ($$) damage if the belt breaks. So if you haven't had the timing belt replaced, now's the time along with the water pump and belt tensioner pulley. A good reasonable price at the Honda dealer (the safest place to go) is $700 total for the complete job.

Question: What do you guys think about having the 2008 honda accord coupe wheels on a 2008 honda accord sedan?
I currently have a 2008 Honda Accord LX-P and was looking to upgrade from the 16" wheels to 17" wheels. Initially I was looking at the 17" sedan wheels to put on the car, but they look exactly the same except an inch bigger. So I looked at the coupe wheels instead, do you think they would look good on my car?

Answer: I think they would look decent, but I personally don't like the Accord coupes rims (I like the V6 coupe rims). Genuine Honda products are pricey, but if you don't mind about spending the money, go for it. You might want to look at aftermarket wheels (if you're not set on buying Honda rims), http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/results has a good selection, and good prices. Stick with 17's, and you should have no problems. Hope this helps, and good luck!

Question: Will a igniter unit off an 89 honda accord fit an 87 honda accord?
I have an igniter unit off an 89 accord and I was wondering if it would fit an 87 honda accord.

Answer: my guess would be that it does because they made accords in a series. I have a 90, and all the ones from 90 through 93 are pretty much the same. I think the 89 and 87 ones are in the same series. So a 1990 one would probably not work, but I think a 1989 one is more likely to work.
If you go to an autoparts store (try autozone.com or something like that you can check). if the same igniter is specified for more than one year it is more likely to be ok.

Question: How Much does it cost for head gasket repair or replacement for 96 Honda Accord?
I have a 96' honda Accord, from many days it was overheating and i replaced with a new radiator, thermostat. But even after that ther temperature goes really high for just a couple of miles. this is been a problem from many days. I left the car in the garage for 3 days idle and after that when i tried to start it is not starting. I took it to the nearest mechanic he said it might be the head gasket problem. I am afraid that the head gasket replacemrnt costs more. But i need the genuine price how much they charge coz i need to have an idea of what the mechanic is saying.
If anyone can really help me in this issue that will be great!

Answer: could cost you from $700 to $1100 for a 4 cyl. 6 cyl will be above $1500

Question: How do you remove the window mounting bolts on a Honda accord with the front Driver's window all the way down?
94 Honda Accord Driver's Window will not go up thus determined regulator needed to be replaced. However the window is all the way down and cannot be accessed.

Answer: take out all the screws on the inside of the door and there will be a plastic lining and then take that off so everything is exposed then all you have to do is find the window arm which is what moves the window up and down then dissconnect the the window from it and pull it out

Question: How many horsepower can you get a Honda Accord or Honda Civic up to?
I'm thinking about buying either a '96-'98 Honda Accord manual or '96 -'00 Honda Civic manual and I want to know how many horsepower each engine can reach before I buy one, as well as how much I would be looking to spend to get the engine to that point, say if it were a stock engine... Any help would be appriciated : )

Answer: well lets see the fastest honda in the world is a civic that is pushing 1100 horse to the wheels and runs a 6 second quarter mile but of course they have near 100000 dollars in the car to make it that fast

Question: 2000 Honda Accord? Is it a good car or is that just a word of mouth?
I am currently about to purchase a 2000 Honda Accord with 60000 miles... It was bought as is from Farmers Insurance. I am trying to figure out if 1) it is a good car? 2) Does anyone know of a site I can run a VIN check thats not so high and still get all the necessary information on the car. Thank you.

answer: If maintained correctly, the Honda Accord will last longer than most other cars. Like all other used cars, you need to look for abuse, and how they drove it. I've had a 1998 Civic, and nothing went wrong with the car, but that's because I did normal maintenance. I now have a 2005 Accord, and it is great, b/c I do normal maintenance.

Question: Is there any way to find out whether T-Belt has been replaced in a Honda Accord?
I brought a pre-used Honda Accord EX (Manual - VTEC) 1996 model from a dealer with 94k miles. Is there any way by which I can find out whether T-Belt replacement was done by the previous owner? I have asked the dealer to check with the previous owner but somehow they failed. I also got a buyer inspection done from an Auth. Honda dealer but according to them it has to be replace if not done by the previous owner.

Answer: don't believe what the mechanics have told you.
the best way u can do it is by looking at the belt. it sould be on the left side of the engine. and since its 1996 i am guessing that it will not have a cover on it ....if it does then its gonna be pain in the butt.
get the cover off and look at the belt...if you see ANY cracks which can be either really small or clearly visible (if in really bad shape) then get it changed. also look at he middle (not the edges)of the belt. if you see the middle part of the belt kind of faded then thats not a good sign either. by middle i mean...through out the belt in the middle. not left not right. the middle.....not the center. i hope this makes sence. sorry couldn't be more help. please if you can.....can u please email me and tell me how much the car cost? to email me you can click on my picture and click on 'email' on the right side of the page or u can edit your post from this page by clicking on the plus sign under your name and click 'add more detail'.....i will check back...thanks.

Question: I need a guide on how to work on a 97 Honda Accord, in particular the steering wheel.?
I need to replace the turn signal switch/lever on a 97 Honda Accord. I imagine it will take some disassembly of the steering wheel area. I have never worked on this part of the car before and I was wondering if someone could direct me to a guide online, or if anyone could give me some tips on how to proceed.

Answer: if you will have to disconnect the air bag just disconnect the battery cable, there is nothing else to worry about, just proceed, it is only like replacing other part cause you will not have disassemble anything accept the covers

Question: Where can i find repair shop or bulb replacements for 1998 honda accord projector headlights in toronto?
i bought a 1998 honda accord ex 2dr about two weeks ago. but one of the "halo light" in the driver's side is not functioning, and on the passenger's side "low beam" is not functioning. i want to replace the bulbs but i dont know what bulbs to buy. is there any specialty shop that repairs or offer parts replacement for the projector headlights here in toronto?

Answer: Take to your local auto parts store and they will get your the correct parts as maybe showing you how to replace, if you are nice and they are not really busy.

Question: Is it possible to put a mustang motor into a 1991 honda accord?
I have a 91 Honda accord just got a paint job on it 2,000 dollars, but in a 800 dollar sound system and I'm looking forward on doing a little maintainence on the carpet. But can I put a mustang motor into this car? No dumb answers please

Answer: In a word - forget it! There's no way the Honda will accept a 'Stang engine; besides being a front driver, the power of the Ford engine will tear it up faster than your wallet can empty (and THAT'S pretty darned quick!). If you're enamored of the Honda (and given the money you've wasted on it to date, you obviously do like the vehicle), why don't you just look into speed parts and/or engine rebuilds/modofications that actually are practical? Good luck!
